The South End has a long and distinguished history of the literary arts, one of the reasons why the Friends' of the South End Library's South End Writes author series never seems to run out of candidates. The authors and poets live here now, or once lived here or will return here as soon as their other assignments elsewhere end. No surprise the South End Book Festival is now in its third year. The event will take place on Saturday, November 18 between 2:00 and 5:00 PM at the Harry Dow Community Room in Tent City, located at 130 Dartmouth Street. Authors will be selling and signing their books. Refreshments will be served. The event is free and open to all.
