As a result of the corona virus outbreak, the Friends of the South End Library postponed the Annual Members Meeting and Annual Board meeting that was to be held tomorrow, Thursday March 12, at the South End library. However, FOSEL is looking into Zoom presentations, about which we will let you know the details as soon as we know.
FOSEL hopes to rescheduled to a later date the much-anticipated book-signing and talk by Dr. Gerald Hass, co-founder of the South End Community Health Center, that had been set for Tuesday, March 17. Finally, we also canceled one of our most popular events of the year, the 13th Annual Easter Egg Hunt, that was to take place on Sunday, April 12.
All these programs draw crowds of people to the South End library and Library Park, which is why we have to cancel them: We can't risk increasing the spread of the infection of the corona virus.
There will be better days, we hope soon. Our program on April 14 with the bestselling author, Laura Zigman may be presented remotely with Zoom (details to follow). If not, we will reschedule that event, and possibly others, to when those better days will come along..
We hope you will stay well and enjoy the spring flowers popping up in Library Park. For any additional information, please contact head librarian, Anne Smart, at asmart@bpl.org, or call at (617) 536-8241.
